Cambridge South Station Opens to Power Biomedical Growth

The News: The U.K. has opened the new Cambridge South railway station, a £250 million investment providing direct rail access to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Europe’s largest life sciences and medical research cluster. The station will serve up to 1.8 million passengers annually and offer connections to London, Birmingham, Stansted Airport and other major destinations.

SITEBOXX Take: Transportation infrastructure remains one of the strongest catalysts for economic development. By improving access to a world-class life sciences hub, Cambridge South strengthens the region’s appeal for biotech companies, researchers and future investment while supporting continued expansion of one of Europe’s leading innovation ecosystems.
